Our Squamata design is based on the Roman lorica squamata. an armor comprised of small iron or bronze overlapping scales sewn to a cloth backing. Used during the Roman Republic. lorica squamata is typically depicted as being worn by military units including regular legionaries. standard bearers. centurions. cavalry. and auxiliary infantry.
